Mehmet Batallı (1944–2004) laid the foundation of Acme Holding's corporate legacy with his entrepreneurial identity, which contributed to the business world and the economic development of the region he was in. Born in Gaziantep in 1944, Batallı graduated from Yıldız Architecture and Engineering University, Department of Chemical Engineering in 1971; he completed his master's degree in Chemical Engineering at New York University in 1975.

Throughout his professional life, he took on active roles not only in the business world but also in non-governmental organizations and professional associations. He assumed responsibilities such as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Member of the Board of Directors of TOBB, and Chairman of the Board of Presidents of the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Associations. He was among the founders of the Turkish Promotion Foundation; he contributed to the establishment process of Gaziantep University.
